about me

I am a Meath based designer & milliner, specialising in original acrylic paintings & unique headpieces. I began experimenting with fluid painting during the pandemic and found a love for the free-flowing movement and creativity of abstract art.

Before diving into the world of painting, I was working in Costume Design on the West End in London. Art, theatre and the creative world have always been my passions and I am delighted to be working in an industry that brings me such joy.

glór na mara

My new collection 'Glór na Mara', the Call of the Sea is inspired by the movement and flow of our Irish Coasts and Seas. Bringing together colour, fluidity and vibrancy, each piece is a unique expression of flow and creativity. The collection comprises of five series, each with an Irish inspired name, incapsulating the colours and expressions of the piece.

Pieces from the new collection were featured in VOGUE UK in May, June & July of 2022, in the VOGUE Gallery.

My first solo exhibition took place in Killeen Castle, Dunsany in Novemeber 2022 &  my collection was chosen to be part of a group exhibition in St. Peter's Cork City in February 2023.

the series

Grá - Inspired by my love of the sea, focusing on the flow and movement of the water. Using vibrant pinks, reds, yellows, oranges, gold and copper colours to create pieces bursting with Grá (Love).

Tonnta - Inspired by the breaking waves crashing against the Irish shores. Tonnta (waves) incorporates blues, turquoise, yellows, navy and golds.

Dulse - Taking inspiration from Irish waters. Dulse (seaweed) incorporates greens, yellows, oranges, browns and golds. Giving an almost birds-eye view into the waters below.

Solas - Taking inspiration from the play of light on and through the water, Solas (light) plays with the colours of blues, pinks, purples, yellows, oranges and metallics.

Lasrach - Inspired by the darker side of the sea. Lasrach (flame) focuses on the stormy, elemental force of the Sea. Incorporating deep reds, blacks, yellows, oranges, browns and golds.

millinery

My millinery journey began during college while I studied Costume Design for Stage & Screen. I also trained with the wonderful milliner Lina Stein in Westport and thus began my love for hats & headpieces.

One of my pieces 'Red Orchid' was chosen to be worn by 'Charlotte Hawkins' while presenting for ITV at The Royal Ascot Races.

My piece 'Floating Lotus' was chosen to be part of 'London Hat Week 2020', in London & was showcased along with other talented international millinery's hats in Oct 20.

I also helped create the futuristic headpieces for the new musical 'Back to the Future', which appear in Doc's futuristic lab in Act 2.

I have recently launched my new Hat Rental collection, due to popular demand. This is a more cost effective, sustainable way of adding a little extra wow to that outfit for a special occasion.

costume design

In 2016, I made the big decision to go back to college to retrain and study Costume Design for Stage & Screen.

I had previously worked in costume for St. Mary's Musical Society in Navan & loved everything fashion & theatre.

After college I moved to London & found myself working in the wardrobe department of 'Tina, The Tina Turner Musical'. It was amazing to work with such a fabulous team on one of the West Ends biggest new shows.

During this time I also working as a Costume Supervisor outside the theatre, curating, sourcing & fitting for many West End musicals.

During the pandemic I made the decision to come back to Ireland and so costume took a little back seat until the world opened up again.

In 2022, I created costumes for the Loughcrew Myths & legends lightshow in my local area.

I then had the honour of costume designing my first music video for the group 'Perlee', for their single 'Lampshade', featuring Seamus O'Rourke and Matthew O'Brien in Leitrim.
